Magnetic Process Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Process control powder production, sintering, grain boundary diffusion and magnetic inspection for NdFeB magnets.
- Definition and continuous improvement of process parameters.
- Evaluation of measured data for composition, particle size, magnetic properties and definition of corrective actions.
- Release authorization for the magnetic properties of intermediate and final products.
- Coordinate the process control with the R&D department at VAC headquarters.
- Writing working instructions for the processes.
- Perform process capability studies and report to management.
Qualifications
Master of material science or physics.
Experience:
Experience in the production of new materials, at least on a laboratory level, preferably for NdFeB sintered magnets.
At least 3 years of working experience in a relevant field, e.g. a PhD project.
Skills and Abilities:
Profound knowledge of powder metallurgy, magnetism, solid state physics and material science.
Team working and social skills.
Willingness to take responsibility, initiative, creativity.
Work Authorization Requirement:
Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) to be eligible for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to loud noise, heat, machinery, and hazardous materials.
Ability to climb industrial stairs and ladders.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
